About Kendrick Vinar

My wife, Nana, and I live in Hillsborough, NC. We have five kids, four dogs, two horses, two cows, and 30 chickens. Yep, country living on 18 acres while leading an amazing church, Grace Church of Chapel Hill, together. Our passion is to reach people and build lives. We feel humbled to be able to serve in the same church since 2002. It’s been an incredible journey of growth, impact, and transformation. Our payday: the lives that are changed each and every week. We love our spiritual family.

My Story

On Oct. 8, 2019, I got the shocking news from my neurologist that I have a cancerous growth in the C6 vertebra of my neck. What was originally plantar fasciitis turned into some tingling and numbness in my feet ended up being cancer. Crazy! I started this blog to keep my friends and family informed about what’s happening. Hopefully not just the medical journey but also the spiritual journey. I hope and prat that you receive some fresh encouragement and inspiration from the spiritual lessons that I’ve been receiving.

Fun Stuff

What does Kendrick do with his spare time? First of all, I LOVE what I do every day. But to be healthy, we need outlets and opportunities for connection around shared interests. Top of the list: GOLF, working out at Planet Fitness, training or hunting with Lexi or Laney (my two English Springer Spaniels), or enjoying a day at Jordan Lake. What you may not know: I have a fairly substantial record collection. Many evenings we enjoy a record on the turntable. I love our hobby farm and spending time with Nana in the yard. Wrap it up with grilling and a slow evening around the house makes a great day off.
