Shared Hope International

Last night a group of us from Grace Church had dinner and spent the evening with Linda Smith from Shared Hope International. Linda is a marvelous woman who has given her life to ending sex trafficking in the United States and around the world. It was a sobering and inspiring evening hearing what is going on in the world of sex trafficking, and what efforts are being made to put it to an end.

I believe that local churches and Christians should be in the lead to make a difference. We've come up with several ideas on next steps.

Linda is speaking today at UNC's conference "Combating Sex Trafficking: Prevention and Intervention in North Carolina and Worldwide.". It's at the Friday Center. Yesterday was great (today is day 2). Some amazing speakers who really are working hard to make a difference around the world.

Shared Hope released a report this week on sex trafficking in Las Vegas.
(By the way, don't think this is a Las Vegas problem. It happens right in Chapel Hill and Durham).

Shared Hope has a lot of great resources on their website:
